How to simplify IT integration

Hi David,

In this recently published article, the author paraphrases MuleSoft founder Ross Mason, who states: "There is less integration work for IT to do if everyone in a digital supply chain, from individual business functions to external partners, can access core back-end systems through APIs."

Point-to-point integration is not scalable, and the IT department will soon lose control of all the different cloud and SaaS applications an enterprise adopts. Mounting competitive pressure in every industry has led to it being more important than ever that enterprises like yours look towards APIs as a way of enabling your IT department to meet and exceed the growing demands of your ever-changing consumer base.

Gartner agrees: "Gartner's idea for remastering IT digitally is about shifting the focus from managing big, monolithic systems such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) to being much more like a car manufacturer, integrating software and services to deliver IT fit for business."
