Monthly Cloud Coverage August 2019 Industry Insight Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG): 32% Say IT Deployment Takes Too Long Success in today's digital economy is predicated upon the ability to leverage data to unlock new business opportunities. As modern businesses become more dependent upon data for success, traditional processes and old technologies become burdens that hinder an organization's financial opportunity. In an ESG study, nearly one in three (32%) line of business executives identified that their IT organization processes to deploy IT services take too long. Attempting to keep pace with this new and insatiable demand for data and digital services, over half of IT organizations (58%) are leveraging public cloud infrastructure services, harnessing benefits in both agility and speed of deployment. Yet, these new services often have a cost that can limit their company's potential. Nearly a quarter (24%) of IT decision makers identify that the addition of managing public cloud services to their data center responsibilities has made IT more complex. Greater automation and management simplification are essential for cloud services if businesses are expected to succeed in the modern era. Ultimately, not all cloud services are the same. The services that offer more familiar controls can significantly ease cloud adoption while expediting IT services delivery. As a result, valuable personnel resources are free to focus on higher level tasks to better enable their business to thrive in this new digital era.
