candidate relationship management

Candidate relationship management is a systematic approach to proactively building, filling and maintaining a company's talent pipeline for just-in-time recruiting.

Candidate relationship management allows recruiters to maintain a pool of passive candidates that can be brought in for consideration at short notice. While this can be done manually through phone calls or emails, dedicated candidate relationship management applications can automate the process, making it easier to aggregate candidates from various channels, know each candidate's level of interest, sort candidates for specific job openings and improve the organization's overall candidate experience.

Vendors of candidate relationship management systems include Jobvite, Smashfly Technologies, iCIMS, Simplicant and SmartRecruiters.

Quote of the Day

"Features to watch for when vetting candidate relationship management systems include solid user manuals and support, robust reporting and follow-up functionality -- the ability to see when a person was last contacted." - Derina Adamczak
