Word of the Day: Patch Tuesday

 
Patch Tuesday is the unofficial name of Microsoft's scheduled security release fixes for its Windows operating system and related software applications.

Patch Tuesday, which occurs on the second Tuesday of each month, is detailed in the Windows Security Updates Guide. If a zero-day vulnerability is dangerous enough, Microsoft has the ability to release a patch immediately, without waiting for the next Patch Tuesday.
